anyway,
Ever sense we saw Rarity and Sweetie Belle's mother and Twilight and Shining Armor's mother... (see below of some featured Deviants' work of all of them) I've thought they all seemed very same-pallet-y for the main unicorns. Then

Twilight G1! fits all their colors! I dub her headcanon matriarch! (Twilight Sparkle and Rarity are also surprised at this turn of events!)

Really, Sweetie Belle looks most like her, but even she and Rarity look like sisters of Shining Armor with their coats and eyes. But the 'stripe' gene is also prominent among this group, besides all the grey-white, pink/purple combos. Really though, I think Twilight Sparkle's mother and Rarity's mother look very much like they could both be daughters of G1 Twilight.

(the point here isn't that twilight sparkle and family look like g1 twilight, because duh. the point is how much rarity and family look like twilight, twilight, and etc.)
